Class Summary
This study is for everyone who moves at breakneck speed through their daily lives, often relying only on their own strength to bring God's kingdom on Earth. Jesus shows us a different way, an easier, unforced rhythm of what kingdom work looks like. It's a balance of work, rest, play, worship, exercise and eating well — spiritual practices that keep our souls hydrated and healthy as we do the work of the church in the world.Class Details and Logistics

About Your Instructor: Rev. Sharon Williams
The course will be led by Rev. Sharon L. Williams. Rev. Williams was appointed to the role of Associate Director of Mission, Service and Justice of the Missouri Conference in August 2020 after having served 11 years in transformational ministry with the Indiana Conference of the UMC. As a church developer and pastor, she led conference strategies for starting and sustaining new faith communities and helped transform existing congregations. Prior to that, Williams served in a variety of ministry contexts – from Philadelphia to North Carolina and even Central America, where she partnered with the International Ministries to lead a Spanish-speaking church start in Bluefields, Nicaragua. With decades of pastoral experience, Sharon’s commitment to Christ is rooted in a deep longing to love God, love the church and live sent. She celebrates the gift of Christ’s call and cherishes a host of support, especially that of her husband, the Rev. Dr. Jacob C. Williams Jr., also a United Methodist Elder of the Indiana Conference. They live in Lees Summit, Missouri, and are occasional couch potatoes who love dance parties, ice cream and cardio workouts, best after enjoying some KC BBQ.
